Katherine Mavridis is an Australian knitwear designer based in New York City. Shortly after completing her undergraduate fashion and textile design studies at the University of Technology Sydney, Mavridis was awarded a scholarship to attend the MFA Fashion Design and Society Program at Parsons.
As a knitwear specialist, Mavridis transcended the boundaries of knitwear by developing a technique of coiling cord into fully-fashioned three-dimensional seamless sculptural garments. As a designer, she focuses on unexpected shape and form to create visual meaning.
