After studying Visual Communication at the Royal College of Art and Central Saint Martins in London, Cynthia Merhej returned to Beirut in 2016 to found Renaissance Renaissance. She is the third of a generation of women to begin her own atelier, following in the footsteps of her great-grandmother and mother.
Her vision is strongly shaped by her experience growing up in a female-led couture environment as well as her multidisciplinary background. At the core of the brand is the desire to create work that reflects a multifaceted woman and that will accompany her through different cycles of her life.
Having a heritage of female couture designer has instilled in Cynthia Merhej notions of quality, craftsmanship and detail as being true luxury. She is motivated to draw on those experiences to push couture forward into the future.
